We partnered with Murray School District to envision and execute the Hillcrest Junior High School replacement over five years, emphasizing student safety and site accessibility. The new 180,000-square-foot facility, strategically positioned away from the bustling State Street, fosters an environment conducive to learning and community engagement. A highlight of this project is the state-of-the-art auditorium, designed to support and enhance the schools vibrant performing arts programs. With 800 fixed seats, the auditorium offers a spacious and comfortable venue for both school and community events. Key features of the auditorium include a fly system, enabling versatile stage configurations and dynamic productions. The inclusion of a little theater with 123 retractable seats, which doubles as a green room, adds to the facilitys adaptability. This space is designed for multiple uses, accommodating scenery changes and providing dressing rooms. Understanding the importance of community involvement, the auditorium was designed with a larger stage footprint to support full-scale productions. The additional floor space and a passthrough corridor behind the stage curtains ensure seamless movement and logistics for performers and crew. The Hillcrest JHS auditorium stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of our firm, the Murray School District, and the local community, providing a premier venue for both educational and community-based performing arts.
