This project involved the remodel and expansion of a 1930s home in central Porto, preserving its character while adapting it for modern living. Key original elements, including the wood flooring, main staircase, and millwork, were carefully maintained, while a cleaner, more contemporary aesthetic was introduced.

The kitchen was relocated to the front of the house, replacing the former living room, while the rear was expanded to create an open living and dining space. A three-step level change subtly defines these areas, bringing the living room closer to the garden. The upper floor was also extended to align with neighboring buildings, transforming two small bedrooms into a spacious suite.

The front façade remains untouched, retaining its elegant 1930s design. In contrast, the rear façade was reimagined with large windows, replacing the original small openings to maximize natural light and create a stronger connection to the garden.
