The Évora Machede Hotel offers a tranquil retreat in the heart of the Alentejo region, seamlessly blending contemporary architecture with the area’s cultural heritage.
Designed as a collection of hotel apartments, villas, and a full-service spa, the hotel embraces the region’s warm, dry climate with its signature white façades, creating a striking contrast against the deep blue sky and surrounding landscape. The 56 rooms and 16 villas are thoughtfully arranged to enhance the connection to the outdoors, each featuring a private exterior living space, while the villas offer additional terraces, balconies, and private pools.
With two outdoor pools for summer relaxation and a heated indoor spa pool for winter retreats, the hotel provides year-round comfort. Spanning 11 hectares, the landscape extends to the Monte Novo Dam, inviting guests to explore footpaths, meadows, and scenic walkways. Rooted in its setting, the design integrates artisanal materials that celebrate local craftsmanship, ensuring a seamless harmony between modern elegance and the timeless beauty of Alentejo. This project was designed in collaboration with architect Pedro Balonas.
