The design and rebuild of Cyprus High School and its sister school, Skyline High, establishes a new standard of innovative K-12 design for Granite School District. For the design of the 505,000-square-foot Cyprus High, we partnered with Fanning Howey, collaborating with administrators and community members to establish core values and goals for the project while forming crucial guiding principles for the school’s design. These values not only embody the learning ethos of Granite School District but also serve as prototypes for future high schools. In Cyprus High’s design, our team translated these principles into purpose-driven spaces that are engaging, budget-minded, and sustainable for both the district and the community. Cyprus and Skyline, respectively, represent the far western and far eastern edges of the district boundaries, setting the tone for Granite School District with dynamic, progressive educational facilities that lead the pack. Construction of Cyprus High is slated to conclude in the summer of 2025, just in time for the Cyprus Pirates to begin a new school year in the fall.
